Check In
A row of palm trees ring the entrance to Ritz-Carlton Orlando Tower, an Italian-style resort where attentive staff greet you with a Porte Cochere and welcomes you with a glass of champagne in the marble lobby. That was a nice treat when checking in.
The staff was VERY attentive as it should be, this is a luxury hotel but not dismissive at all. (I travel in basic street clothes so sometimes the staff can be a bit lackluster at other chains I have visited.) But this check in was great.
The check in went pretty fast and was on my way to my room after about 10 minutes. The awesome front desk person was very informative as to what I was able to do with the amenities they offer there.
The hotel oozes pampering for the guests. Valet, concierge, and a fast bell hop made it an easy check in. Time for you to be spoiled!
Rooms
I opted for the King room with a resort view. The room was very clean and at about 480 sqft, this was a decent sized room for us. Being up higher in the hotel made for some grand views of the resort complex and the Florida scenery all around us, from the balcony, where we spent a lot of our down time and our morning coffees.
The room comes with a coffee & tea maker, bottled water is also included complimentary. We did use the rooms Mini-bar, but remember that can get expensive for some, so tread lightly on the bingeing.
The bathroom was nice with marble all around, walk in shower, soaking tub, double vanities and a light up mirror made it a feel like a spa.
The A/C worked fine and never froze up, as we kept it a bit colder then others like. This makes sleeping a dream, during the hot and humid nights in Florida. 🙂
The night stands had plenty of outlets and quick charging USB ports, which was a plus. Hitting the theme parks with their “mobile only” maps, and the hotel using “mobile keys” our phones came back very near empty a few nights.
Overall the room was great I have no complaints. If I had to be a bit picky I would like softer sheets that are fitted. But that’s being very picky for me.
Food and Beverages
We ate at a few of the onsite restaurants when we were there. The Knife and Spoon was our favorite. The steaks there were top notch. Aged and cured to perfection once they hit the grill you can smell the aroma all around the resort and dining room.
I had a bone in aged 45 days rib eye on one night and a rack of lamb on the other time we ate there. Both were cooked and prepped to perfection.
My wife opted for scallops that were covered with truffles on one night, and the king crab scampi the other night. She said she was in heaven. She loved them both.
We also ate at the pool side place called Bleu. This quaint place is right next to the busy pool area and has some amazing food and drinks as well.
The menu is mostly light fare with a good selection. The fish tacos were my favorite as was the turkey guac BLT wrap. It paired with my beers excellently. The queen bee had chicken quesadillas and the cobb salad, she said both were excellent. For the drinks, she liked the Goombay Smash and the Sangria the most.
Employees
The staff was top notch and very attentive to our needs. The bartenders and wait staff are second to none. We never had an issue with any staff when we were there. 5 stars for them!
Location
This is in a great location for us. We had a very easy time getting around in the rental to the places on our to do list. Disney is very close to here. Uber’s were also very easy to get here for those club nights.
